William Seegmiller graduated with a Juris Doctor from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1980. One year later, in 1981, he established The Seegmiller Law Firm. He remained at the helm of The Seegmiller Law Firm for more than 35 years.

The attorney has also flexed his professional muscle as a part of the teams at Law Media, Inc., an independent media company producing content for lawyers and law students, as well as West Alliance Injury Lawyers. Operating across California and Nevada, West Alliance Injury Lawyers is an experienced law firm helping injured parties and their families to receive justice.

Academic Background

Seegmiller’s academic history began at the University of California, Davis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UC Davis.

Following his graduation from the renowned University of California institution, he studied at the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and Pepperdine University’s Rick J. Caruso School of Law, respectively.

He has subsequently completed additional legal studies as a part of Harvard Law School, Trial Lawyers College, and Fielding Graduate University.

McGeorge School of Law

William West Seegmiller is a graduate of the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. It is from the McGeorge School of Law that he holds his Juris Doctor.  He was a member of the Trainor Moot Court Team and the Pacific Law Review.  The University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law is an American Bar Association-approved law school.

The Sacramento, California-based McGeorge School of Law exists within UOP’s Oak Park campus. Seegmiller enrolled at the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1976, graduating four years later in 1980.

University of Southern California

Seegmiller also studied at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The lawyer and philanthropist headed to the oldest private research university in California to earn his Master’s in Real Estate.

The Seegmiller Law Firm founder studied for his Master’s in Real Estate at the renowned institution from 2007 until 2009.

Rick J. Caruso School of Law

Eight years later, Seegmiller further studied at Pepperdine University. He took Advanced Law and completed his studies in 2017 at Pepperdine University’s Rick J. Caruso School of Law in Los Angeles County, California.

He remains closely affiliated with the university and regularly contributes to the institution’s scholarship program.

William West Seegmiller received the Golden Advocate Award for Largest Verdict in 2015. His Golden Advocate Award recognized a $40 million damages judgment secured for a single client. The same year, he ranked among the top one percent of all U.S. attorneys on the Litigator Awards rating website.

The following year, the American Institute named him one of the Top Attorneys in North America. He has also received a Premier 100 Award courtesy of the American Academy of Jurisprudence and a Distinguished rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Philanthropic Involvement

Seegmiller proudly supports numerous good causes and is an active local community member. He regularly contributes to scholarships at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law and Pepperdine University, from which he graduated. The distinguished lawyer is also a longstanding supporter of the Special Olympics and the Boy Scouts of America.

As a patron of the arts, he has sponsored a ballerina in the internationally renowned Bolshoi Ballet and is a contributor to numerous theater companies. He previously supported a $50 million expansion campaign at Markham Stouffville Hospital, a part of Oak Valley Health. His sponsorship helped the hospital to cater to the local community’s ever-growing needs.

Volunteer Efforts

Seegmiller has participated in numerous overseas volunteer efforts. These include measures to support struggling families in Cuba, Guatemala, and Mexico. He helped build homes for impoverished families in Mexico alongside the nonprofit organization Corazón. Corazón focuses squarely on the vital importance of self-sufficiency.

Aided by committed volunteers from the U.S. and Mexico, the charity works to build homes and open doors for families living in underserved communities across Mexico. Seegmiller has also undertaken numerous personal missions to Cuba, providing essential dental and medical supplies to needy families.

Today, the philanthropic legal expert generously donates his time to the Reinhart Foundation. The Reinhart Foundation exists to grant life-changing wishes to critically ill children.

Personal Interests

Outside his professional and charitable endeavors, private pilot license-holder William West Seegmiller is passionate about several hobbies and other interests.

Among these hobbies and interests are flying, writing, and travel, where he has previously visited the Northwest Passage and Antarctica. As a writer, he has contributed to a best-selling book about essential elements of business success.

A patron of the arts and a lover of cinema, he has also served as an executive producer on several titles. These titles include the films Atone (2019) and Maximum Achievement: The Brian Tracy Story (2017), where, for his involvement, he received a prestigious Golden Reel Award.

William recently completed a trek to Mt. Everest and celebrated his 72nd birthday there.
